Just consumerism. plus Christmas celebrates birth, something to which everyone can relate, whereas NO one can really relate to resurrection from death. It doesn't bother me as to how much our society makes a big deal about something, because society also make a big deal about having lots of money, sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Also when we say "make a big deal" about Christmas, it's more about the holiday not Jesus and the same holds true for Easter. The neglect is the same/equal for both.
